- Needs financial aid for health care costs
- Requires personal attendance from someone else to assist with the activities of daily living
In addition, the veteran must:
- Have an honorable discharge
- Have served during a time of war
- Have served at least one day of active duty
- Provide additional supporting documents as requested by Veterans Affairs

- $24,228 per year ($2,019 per month) for a couple
- $20,436 per year ($1,703 per month) for a single veteran
